Megan Kirk moved to Eureka Springs in 2001 with her husband and daughter. They built a straw bale house on twenty acres, took ownership of the local natural food store, and had two more daughters. Megan does health consultations and product curation at Eureka Market, where her entire family works. She enjoys photography, particularly street photography, as well as plant cultivation, bird-watching, writing and the great outdoors.
I began collecting “knees and toes” photos when I had three daughters under the age of nine. Craving creative expression, photography was a pursuit that was compatible with traipsing around Eureka Springs with kids in tow. As I settled on my subject, my daughters encouraged my collection, and often starred in it. As this show begins its tour around Arkansas, I have three teenagers, and their shoes are a lot bigger. -Megan Kirk
